Jing Zhou's work on the realizaiton of small molecular acceptor co-crystallized fibrils is accepted in Energy & Environmental Science. This work demonstrated that the side-chain dipole interaction between BTA-E3 and L8-BO reinforces the backbone stacking and forms Y-shape co-crystallized dimers. These dimers then serve as the building block to form nanoscale fibrils for improved charge transport and eventually enhanced device efficiency of 20.7% (certified as 20.37%). This principle is also appliable by introducing BTA-E3 to C5-16 and BTP-eC9 systems.
